    • MST and SBMTD are embracing in-person enrollment when digital enrollment is difficult, inconvenient, or not possible for certain riders. Transit agency staff beta testing Cal-ITP Administrator have now successfully enrolled riders for reduced fares at both agencies. In-person enrollments now account for just over 10% of total enrollments in 2025. This functionality is proving especially useful at community events where digital identity verification isn't necessary and agency staff can quickly check a government-issued ID to verify rider eligibility. In-person enrollment also covers edge cases such as when an eligible rider doesn't have a Social Security number. We currently offer in-person enrollment for seniors (65 and older), Medicare cardholders, and riders who previously registered for an agency card. While we've seen enrollments for each benefit option, seniors account for the most thus far.

    • Following the successful launch of contactless payments at SacRT in April, we will onboard two more SACOG agencies to Cal-ITP Benefits this summer. Roseville Transit and El Dorado Transit are scheduled to launch in July and August. Yolo and Yuba-Sutter will follow in the months after.
